It is my joy and privilege to serve as the Senior Pastor of Church of the Master United Methodist! Since its founding in 1851 to serve the Otterbein Community, this congregation has been dedicated to creating a faith community that would connect head and heart faith, and would nurture the faith of students, faculty, and staff connected to the Otterbein campus as well as the surrounding Westerville community.
If you are looking for a church home, a place and a people with whom to worship, a community with which to explore your faith questions, a safe and loving place for your children to grow, a smile, and a warm welcome you will find it here! We are an inclusive community of faith that strives to serve God and our community with the love of Christ and where ALL are welcome, and ALL means ALL! We invite you to walk with us as we work to live out the lyrics to this Welcome song, one of many with which we begin our worship:
Let’s walk together for a while and ask where we begin to build a world where love can grow and hope can enter in, to be the hands of healing and to plant the seed of peace, singing welcome, welcome to this place. You’re invited to come and know God’s grace. All are welcome the love of God to share 'cause all of us are welcome here; all are welcome in this place. ("Welcome" by Mark A. Miller and Laurie Zelman, 2011.) May the welcome be warm and wide, always.
May the deep and abiding love of God abound in your heart and in the hearts of all. And may you experience that welcome here!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Jay
Manna Worship is our 9am worship experience. This service seeks to be more intimate, more comfortable, more contemplative, and more relaxed than our traditional service at 11am. Messages are frequently more conversational or interactive in nature here. At Manna our music is more contemporary and is offered either on piano or through videos. We receive holy communion weekly at Manna, which is part of what inspired the name. Manna is a wonderfully gentle way to enter into worship with a community of loving and welcoming folks who want to grow in their faith and their love of God and neighbor.
Our 11am Worship Service is a more traditional service which includes the singing of the historic hymns of the church, music presented by a church choir, and congregational liturgy and responses as part of the service. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month and our children’s ministry presents music on a regular basis. Nursery care is provided during this service, and children are welcome to go to one of our children’s programs following the Children’s Message or to remain in worship with parents or family. Children are ALWAYS welcome in worship and activity packs are available for them.
Join us for our livestream worship service Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM EST.
