This year we are asking families to pre-register to help us safely plan for enough volunteers and supplies. Pre-registration is open to church families through March 31, after which it will be opened up to the community. Please make sure you save a spot for your child!
Our church nursery provides safe, welcoming, inviting, and loving care to infants and children, six-weeks old through kindergarten. Nursery care is offered Sunday mornings and during special classes or events. On Sunday morning the nursery is open from 8:15 a.m. until the close of the second worship service, approximately 12:15 pm. The nursery is staffed by paid workers and volunteers.
Church of the Master offers Sunday School for children aged three through 5th grade from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Our goal for Sunday school is for it to provide safe, engaging, fun and educational experiences for children that will enable them to grow in their knowledge and love of God and Jesus Christ and to live in Christian discipleship. All children (three year olds through 5th graders) gather in the movie room at 9:30 a.m. for a time of fellowship and singing. The three year olds through kindergartners then transition to Room 8 downstairs while children aged 1st grade through 5th grade move to Room 17 for their lesson.
Rainbows and Dewdrops
Rainbows and Dewdrops are children's church programming held during the 11 a.m. worship service. Rainbows is for children 1st through 3rd grade while Dewdrops is for three through Kindergartners. These are wonderful programs that allow parents the opportunity to worship without distractions while allowing their children time to fellowship and learn about God in an age-appropriate environment.
All children are invited to begin the worship service with their parents, participate in the Children’s Moment on the altar during the service, and then to follow the teachers to the classrooms. Dewdrops is held in Room 8 downstairs and Rainbows in Room 17 upstairs. Wonderful adult volunteers teach these programs.
Music and the Master, also known as “M&Ms”
The entire family is invited to our Thursday night Music and the Master program! M&Ms is an opportunity for children (aged 3 years through 5th grade) and their families to gather and grow in God’s word with music, fellowship, food, and Bible Study. The preschoolers, kindergartners and their grown-ups meet for Cherub Choir at 5:30 pm while the children grades 1-5 meet for Faith Development. At 6:00 pm everyone gathers for a wonderful meal in the Fellowship Hall. At 6:30 pm the older children go to Junior Choir while the younger ones go to Godly Play (Biblical lessons taught with fun, age-appropriate crafts and stories). Families sign up to cook the meals on a rotating basis. Choirs are directed by Children’s Choir Director Kitty Laurich and classes are taught by Children’s Ministry Director, Erin Flory.
All children in grades 1st - 5th grades are invited to join Chime Choir, which meets on Thursdays at 5:00 pm. Players do not need to know how to read music to participate, but it is important that they are committed to regular attendance (and that their parents are committed to getting them there). Chime Choir usually plays during Worship on Christmas Eve and on 3 other Sundays throughout the year. If you have any questions, please contact Marilyn Rogers at 614-471-4776.
